Light post about my kids' names
Finding a boy name was difficult for us. We couldn't agree on them .... And of course we had three of them haha.
Avery has the middle name James before he had a first name. I love the name James and it is Andrew's middle name. Andrew suggested just to name. Him James but then I couldn't think of a middle name. Also I new family members would call him Jimmy or Jimbo and I am not a fan. Eventually Andrew suggested Avery and I loved it. I didn't know anyone named Avery, but had heard the name. And interesting enough I had no idea that it became popular for girls. Also until a coworker reminded me I forgot that the character Murphy Brown named her son Avery (and it was the character's mother's name too).
With Miles, I just one day said "Miles, his name will be Miles" and Andrew agreed. At the time we were watching the show "LOST" and there is a character named Miles. It wasn't that the character was my favorite or anything I just liked his name. Interesting enough there is also a character named Miles on "Murphy Brown" too... haha that wasn't planned but made my coworker laugh. I was trying to think of a middle name and decided Patrick. One was due in March, two his grandma is named Patricia, three we also watched a show called "The Mentalist" and the main character is Patrick Jane. I love the name Patrick but didn't want him to be called Pat or Rick or anything that can come from Patrick.
Nolan. So Andrew's Aunt Bobbie married a man named James Patrick Nolan. We didn't know that Uncle Jim's middle name was Patrick until he said "Thanks for naming your kids after me!" Haha. So when we knew Nolan was going to be a boy originally we joked that his middle name would be Nolan to complete Uncle Jim's legacy. However at the time there was a great baseball player for the Colorado Rockies named Nolan Arenado. And his name was heard with excitement every game and we watched most on TV or in person. We decided we liked Nolan as a first name. Around the time we found out Nolan was a boy, Andrew's grandfather passed away. His name was Richard. One of my grandfathers was also named Richard and so is my father-in-law. So we decided Richard should be Nolan's middle name.
